The Hobbit Chronicles II

A lot of work goes into making a movie.  Especially if a movie requires lots of visual effects.  Even more so if it calls for lots of Creatures and Characters designs.

The Hobbit films by director Peter Jackson are some of the most special effects and Creatures and Characters laden films ever produced.

Harper Design presents The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey Chronicles II, written by Daniel Falconer, that explores the work behind the Creatures and Characters of the popular film.

The attractive hardbound book graced with embossing, spot varnished photos and gold ink on its heavy deep blue stock cover and binding takes readers behind-the-scenes as Weta designs the many Creatures and Characters seen in the first Hobbit film.

Full color photos highlight Hobbits, Wizards, Dwarves, Trolls, Elves, Stone Giants, Goblins, Gollum, Orcs and Beasts accompanied by detailed design notes and production secrets.

Included are sections about the Peninsula, collectible Creatures and Characters and a fold-in Size Comparison Chart of all the key Creatures and Characters as so to give readers a visual of their differing sizes side-by-side.

Each section breaks categories down by individual Creatures and Characters with photos provided of computer designs or real life film prosthetics applications transforming human actors into inhabitants of Middle Earth.

The entire book provides an insider's look at the talent, time and effort putting into making the film.
