Monopoly The Walking Dead Survival Edition

Hasbro’s Monopoly game has always been about survival-albeit who winds up with all the cash and property.  Only the most ruthless and business savvy survive.  Well…….things are about to change…….drastically.

Monopoly The Walking Dead Survival Edition, from Diamond Select, based on the hit TV and comic book series, has upped the ante.

Players no longer vie for money and posh property-they barter for food, supplies and safe havens to ward of the carnivorous Walking Dead.

Two to six players, ages 13 and up, face off against one another in a no-holds-barred fight for survival as they barter for guns, ammo, food and medical supplies and attempt to secure locations where they can ward off and survive The Walking Dead.

Structured much the same as the classic Monopoly game all the parts and pieces look familiar only based on pure survival.  Lush and prime real estate consists of towers, fortifications and safe houses, money is broken down in value based on items of survivals: food, etc. and player cards often determine is you survive or not.

The game board appears as a bloodied and stained post apocalyptic artifact, currency appears dated and weathered, game pieces include Michonne’s katana, Rick’s hat, the R.V., Lucille (bat), a telephone and a bucket filled with body parts.

Game play is typical Monopoly fashion but the stakes are much higher as only one person will survive-the rest become The Walking Dead fodder.  Like any Monopoly based game The Walking Dead Survival Edition game play can end quickly or go on for hours-much like a Walking Dead siege.

Everything about this game screams horror, from its duct-taped faux steel case box to its stained and worn board, money, cards and game tokens.
Do you have what it takes to survive?
