Priorities

I thought my wife was going to die!

A little over a week ago my wife started coughing up blood-a lot of blood.

I took her to the doctor and we were waiting to set up an appointment with a specialist.

While we waited she coughed up more blood and I immediately took her to Emergency.

Without going into a lot of detail, she came very close to dying and they are not exactly sure why.

Over the next few weeks/ months doctors hope to discover why.

She's been pumped full of antibiotics and appears to be healing.  Still, it's scary and we both find that our priorities have changed-drastically!

Money, status, comfort, ambitions and dreams mean little or nothing.

What really matters is trusting God, placing our lives in his hands and reaching out to tell and demonstrate to others how much God loves them.

Life is short and fragile and in the long run we all come into this world with nothing and we all leave with nothing.

The important thing is where we spend eternity.

I'm guilty of forgetting that sometimes and becoming callous.

Both my wife and I have decided we want to do more for God.  We are planning to volunteer for more things at church, reaching out to people and becoming the kind of witnesses we were meant to be.

I pray that God give us the strength, endurance and the heart for other people.

If you're reading this you need to know God loves you and has a plan for your life.  If you go to the home page of my blog and look to the right you will see the words, 'The Road To Salvation'.

I encourage you to open up the page and read it.  It will change your life for the better and you will be on the path to become the person God meant you to be.
