Hellboy Mez-itz

Who would ever think that Hellboy could be cute? Well, he is, or at least his Mezco Mez-itz Hellboy, The Golden Army, limited edition, 6-inch articulated figure is.

The Hellboy figure is a simplified, designer vinyl, mini-monster painted in flat reds, browns, black and gray. His oversize red, bald, head has a painted on face with Hellboy's trademark sneer, short, filed off horns with pulled back black hair on its sides.

He wears his long trench coat, also painted on, black shirt, pants and boots. His right hand is the Hand of Doom as seen in both movies and in the comic books and off course, he has his long prehensile tail. Included with the figure is Hellboy's favorite weapon, the Samaritan.

The figure comes in a black box with white lettering and clear panels on the front and back. An Abe Sabien figure is also available. The Vinyl figure is cleverly articulated and does not distract from the figure itself. Paint application is smooth, consistent and shows no rough edges or slop-over. The figure stands easily on its own and the Samaritan fits snuggly in its hand.

Look for cool details such as Hellboy's belt buckle, trench coat buttons, charm chain, serpentine tail and the Samaritan handgun with oversize ammo chamber.

Premium Stereo Headphones

Listening to music is great. But, it's only great if you'd got something great to listen to it with. Listening to it directly from a stereo or computer or even from one of the new multi-media TV directly loses much of the sound quality.

What you need is a premium set of stereo headphones and coincidentally Genius has a Premium Stereo Headphone that fits the bill perfectly.

Genius's GHP-05 Live DRD 3D Surround Premium Stereo headphone lets you listen to every subtle vocal and musical instrument with crystal clarity. No matter what you plug it into: a computer, stereo, entertainment center or amplifier what you get is some of the very best sound transfer clarity I've ever heard.

For you technical buffs out there check out some of the features and accessories you receive: 20Hz-25KHz frequency response, 32ohm +/- 20% impendence, 95dB +/- 3dB @1KHZ, a two meter + two meter cable length, an RCA converter, a gold plate adaptor, extension cable, two AAA batteries and a User's Manual.

The padded earphones make listening to music comfortable with no outside noise distraction. They adjust to fit any size head, the power switch is located on one of the earphones and the earphones tilt and pivot to any position with no effort.

They make the perfect gift for any music lover or musician who enjoy crystal clear sound from base through the full acoustic range.

Green Lantern First Flight

What's the hottest title and storyline at DC Comics? Batman? Nope. Superman? Nope. Green Lantern is. Writer Geoff Johns has transformed the Green Lantern from a glorified cosmic sheriff to one of the most interesting and complex characters produced by DC Comics or (dare I say it?) any other comic book company.

Warner Bros. presents its latest DC Universe Animated Original Movie with Green Lantern First Flight. Taking a slight liberty from its comic book origins, the movie introduces Green Lantern to the general public with a killer animated DVD that delves into the origin of the Emerald Warrior, the Guardians, the Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro and the entire Green Lantern cast of characters.

Hal Jordan, test pilot, is transported to the crash site of Abin Sur's spaceship, the Green Lantern assigned to Earth's sector of space. Dying from a fatal wound, Abin Sur passes on his Green Lantern ring to Jordan as the newest Green Lantern.

Soon Jordan is joined by other Lanterns who take him to the home planet of the Guardians of the Universe where he meets his trainer, and later arch enemy, Sinestro.

What follows is a fast-paced tour of the universe, a search for a new weapon that threatens the Corps, treachery, betrayal and a climatic battle that will determine the fate of the Universe, the Lanterns and the Guardians.

Featuring spectacular animation, mind-blowing special effects, a first-rate story and well-developed characters, Green Lantern First Flight is a must-have for any comic book fan.

DVD extras include a Sneak Peek of the next DC Universe animated movie, a behind-the-scenes visit to the Darkest Night, featurettes, a Duck Dodgers Green Loontern short and much more.

Losing The Peace

Pocket Books' newest Star Trek: The Next Generation paperback book release, Losing The Peace, by William Leisner is not your typical Star Trek book.

There are no epic spaceship battles, exotic and terrifying alien species, hidden agendas or threats to the universe.

What it does contain are the tragic results of an intergalactic war, with the Borg, that has left the Federation in shambles. Planets and their entire populations are either wiped out or on the brink of collapse, Food, shelter, medical help and other necessities of life are at short supply and the Federation is stretched thin with barely enough ships to patrol the galaxy to offer aid and maintain the peace.

The crew of the Enterprise face their own dilemma as they, under the command of Jean Luc Picard, are given watchdog duty as they endeavor to search for survivors, supply medical and humanitarian assistance to devastated civilizations and keep at bay and under control those planets not effected by the Borg.

Tensions mount and old isolationist instincts kick-in as Picard, his wife Beverly, Worf and assorted crew members deal with crisis in their own individual ways.

Losing The Peace is a close examination of the aftereffects of war placed in a fictional setting. However, the ramifications and tragic circumstances are pulled from today's headlines.

Fearless Dawn #1

Holy EC Comics! Have Wally Wood, Frank Frazetta and Al Williamson reunited to draw a brand-new comic book? No!? Fearless Dawn from Asylum Press is written and drawn by Steve Mannion. Steve who!?

I can't say I know who Mr. Mannion is but I will say this. I'm a big fan of his work. Talk about energetic fun!

Fearless Dawn is a misfit, highly unorthodox and unconventional heroine who is in it for the money, thrills and debauchery.

Readers join Dawn as she picks up her newly repaired jet and zips off to Manitoba for a highly illegal Aggro Combat Drug that turns everyday soldiers into monstrous super soldiers.

Too little too late she realizes that it's a trap and before she can react she's knocked out and imprisoned. Her old adversary, Neo-Nazi General Fritz and her muscle-bound henchman, Fritz are out for revenge.

To her rescue comes the super hero Number Seven who gets his butt kicked by the super soldiers. He's thrown into the same cell as Dawn. Their only means of escape is to take the Combat Drug that Dawn secreted upon herself. They do and boy the sparks are about to fly-next issue! Arrgh! I don't know if I can wait to September.

Fearless Dawn is a breath of fresh air in the over-cluttered comic book market predominated by conventional superheroes. She's brash, bad, bodacious and one of the best things to happen to comics in a long time. Well done!
