comes the toy adaptations from the upcoming blockbuster film
based on The
Hobbit.
'Let The Journey Begin' with the Bilbo Baggins 6-inch, fully-articulated
figure complete with a satchel, two water bottles and a sword. The beautifully crafted figure looks exactly
like the actor portraying Bilbo. His
long brown hair covers his ears and forehead while his short body, with its
large furry feet, is covered by a long brown waistcoat, green vest with gold
buttons, a yellow scarf/tie and baggy light brown pants.The figure stands easily on its own and the carrier with bottles and satchel fit easily over his shoulders. Either hand can grasp the small sword.
The figure is displayed in full and seen from all sides (except the back) through a circular bubble with a photo of Bilbo on the lower right hand corner.
Full story and character bio are on the back with color photos of the other figures in the set that include Tauriel, Thorin Oakenshield, Gandalf The Grey and Legolas Greenleaf.
Speaking of Legolas he and Tauriel are part of the two-figure, three and one half inch series of toys that are also fully-articulated and come with extras bows, swords, arrows and sheaths. Both Legolas and Tauriel appear just as they do in the film.
Legolas comes dressed all in brown while Tauriel is attired in brown and forest green. Both have long cascading hair. Three other two-figure sets are also available.
All of the figures are nicely sculpted, feature tight paint application with no runs or spillover and crisp edges to all the assembled parts. Figures move easily, stand independently and pose in dozens of positions.
Packaging is attractive and eye-pleasing with useful figure and story information along with full color photos of the characters to use as comparisons. All make fine additions to any J.R.R. Tolkien collection.
