The Men Who Built America

After the Civil War the United States was in a state of shock.  The North and the South were financially strapped-especially the South.  While the North could fall back on its industrial and trade strengths the South was devastated both geographically and financially.  Both the North and South had pumped millions into the war and lost thousands of men-most of them young.

What the newly re-United States needed to do was to heel its wounds and recuperate-quickly.  A few men-ambitious men, saw the potential for personal and national growth and with a little ingenuity, a little luck and some financial backing went about transforming a war torn nation into the most prosperous nation in the world.

The new Blu-ray 3-disc collection: The Men Who Built America, from Lionsgate, collects all eight episodes from the History Channel series.

Through historical reenactments and recreations the documentary tells the story of a handful of men who grabbed the nation by the bootstraps and pulled it back on its feet.

Learn how Ford, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan and Vanderbilt rebuilt a nation and set the United states on the road to prosperity and predominance in the world theater.

Also included on the Blu-ray is some special bonus footage never seen on the TV before.
