Alter Ego #116, May

TwoMorrows Publishing dedicates Alter Ego #116 to the memory of comic book great, Joe Kubert.

Articles lead the reader through Joe’s career starting with the war years where he sharpened his skills drawing superheroes, to the lean years when the Comic Book Authority successfully shut down a large number of comic book publishers thus making work scarce and finally to his ‘discovery’ years at DC Comics drawing war comics.

A multi-talented artist ,Joe could draw anything and anyone as evidenced by the wide range of comic books he drew from war comics to superheroes.

Alter Ego does a superb job of showing Joe’s evolution as an artist.  As the decades progressed Joe’s talent continued to grow and as a testimony to his talent his art is just as popular with young readers of today as it is to long time fans of his work.

Artist, writer, editor and headmaster of his own school on Comic Book Art, Joe Kubert was truly a Renaissance man who will be sorely missed.  Be sure to pick up this very special issue that is jam-packed with Joe’s art and a very intimate interview with the artist himself.
