Focke-Wulf FW190A-8/R11 Nachtjager

Have you ever seen a war plane that just looks mean and intimidating?  That's just such the case with Hasegawa Hobby Kits' new 1/48 Scale, Limited Edition, German Focke-Wulf FW190A-8/R11 Nachtjager.

With its heavy and short body, huge tri-propeller engine and impressive (and abundant) firepower the Fw190A-8/R11 must have been a very intimidating fighter when it came face-to-face with Allied aircraft.

Pilot Oberfeldwebel Günther Migge gained quite a reputation as a pilot with an impressive list of kills.

The Fw190A-8/R11 augmented his flying skills courtesy of its 14-cylinder engine and Neptun radar that was perfect for night flights.

Imagine being an Allied pilot when all of a sudden, as if by magic, a German aircraft approaches you at breakneck speed, spits out round after round of ammunition and quickly disables your aircraft!

More frightening still is to have such an aircraft scream out of the darkness and open fire!
With its twin camouflage signature that hid it from view both from the ground and in the air the Fw190A-8/R11 earned the name of 'killer.'

It's definitely an aircraft model best displayed hanging from a ceiling.  One can't help to marvel at its design and predator like appearance.

Like all Hasegawa Hobby Kits the Fw190A-8/R11 features parts that snuggly fit together with little or no flashing, easy-to-follow instructions for gluing, painting and decal application and also includes fascinating historical text in its instructions.
