H.G. Wells and Peanuts

When I was a young kid I used to make my Mom upset with me because I would spend my lunch money on books from the Scholastic Books Library Kiosk at school.

One of my all-time favorite writers was (and still is) H.G. Wells, known for such works as ‘The Time Machine’, War Of The Worlds and many more which shaped science fiction literature.

In ‘Steampuck H.G. Wells’ illustrated by Zdenko Basic and published by Running Press, Well’s ‘The Time Machine’, The War Of The Worlds and ‘The Country Of The Blind’ are accompanied by Steampunk renderings very much in the vein of the time period they were placed.

Beautifully illustrated in stunning full color the book captures the sheer magnitude of the stories as only Steampunk can portray them.

Imagine the events happening during the dawn of the Industrial Revolution when steam, pistons and massive machinery were the norm.

I can almost picture the Steampunk machinations at work in each story with knobs, buttons, pipes and archaic hinged and geared contrivances populating each tale.

The book is a ‘must have’ for any Wells or Steampunk fan.

It’s hard to imagine that the creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip: Charles M. Schulz, passed away over 17 years ago.

And yet his work and genius are still present and prevalent today.

Two new Peanuts themed books are out.

‘Be Active’ encourages kids and adults to enjoy the great outdoors.

Dare to try something new, get some exercise, get exhausted and feel accomplished.
It’s a great way to ‘Find Energy Through Peanuts’.

The Peanuts comic strip gained much notoriety for its simple but honest approach to life’s ups and downs and challenges.

The Peanuts kids represented a small microcosm of society with all personality types and temperaments present.

In ‘Peanuts Guide To Life’ the wit and wisdom from the world’s best-loved cartoon characters offers quotes and advice from the entire Peanuts gang when dealing with life’s day-to-day activities and challenges.

It’s simple, straight-forward and some of the best advice you can get.
