Comic Book Artist Issue #1

Neal Adams and Alex Ross were featured in the first issue of Top Shelf’s Comic Book Artist magazine.

Both artists had a tremendous impact on the comic book industry.

Unfortunately Neal Adams passed away in May of 2022 at the age of 80.

Both Neal Adams and Alex Ross were given full color insert sections along with text, photos and art in the main body of the magazine.

Issue #1featured a Superman Adams/Ross collaboration cover.

Other articles in the square bound magazine included Stan Lee in the 1970s, a Craig Thompson sketchbook, an Arcade cover gallery, an examination of the life of Bill Griffith, a look at Super Green Beret, Michael Moorcock’s book and comic book work and a look at Barry Windsor Smith’s early work.
