Fashion Source Book

I like to draw the human figure. But, like with a lot of artists properly clothing figures can be challenging.

 

Research, photo reference, drawing from life and my imagination can be time-consuming, frustrating and taxing.

It’s a lot of work! So many clothing items, period costumes and traditional ethnic outfits to choose from.

If only someone would create a fashion book containing lots of clothing reference for a quick and convenient reference.

That’s exactly what author and artist Kathryn McKelvey and Wiley and Blackwell Publishing have accomplished with their Fashion Source Book Second Edition.

Clothing of all types for all ages, ethnic types, historical, contemporary and more are included in this large softback book.

Also included is a gallery of posed figures dressed in various outfits, sections on proportions by age, construction, accessories and a full glossary.

What an invaluable reference! What perfect timing! I just started a series of drawings and this book will be a big help.
