Anna Valerious

Hugh Jackman may have been the star in the Van Helsing movie but without a strong female costar the movie would have been too ponderous and dark.

Kate Beckinsale played Anna Valerious the last descendant of the family that fought the Lord of Darkness: Dracula.

No damsel in distress, Anna could fight with the best of them.  Brave, adept at swordplay and determined Anna made the perfect female compatriot for Van Helsing.

The 12-inch fully articulated figure from Sideshow Collectibles recreates the raven hair beauty in all her finery.

The stunning figure comes packaged in Sideshow’s standard flip lid box with photos of the figure and actress on all sides and a brief description of the movie and cast list on the inside flip lid.

A sheet of tissue paper protects the figure and accessories behind a clear plastic panel.

Both the figure and accessories are secured in a form fitting, clear plastic cocoon and plastic/wire ties under a clear plastic panel for viewing and protection.

Accessories include a gold handle dagger, a gold handle and pommel two-edged sword, a twin sword and dagger scabbard with silver buckle belt and a special Van Helsing circular base and support wire for posing the figure.

The Anna figure’s face features striking blue eyes, a slightly dark complexion, a small nose, pursed red lip and a high forehead and cheekbones all framed by a full head of auburn hair that looks real.

She has a long slender neck, a nice athletic figure and small propositioned hands for holding the weapons.

The figure wears a white blouse with no collar decorated in red thread and tied with a large open bow with frilly sleeves that peek through her vest at the wrists.

She wears a short vest open at the chest with large open slit sleeves, a black leather girdle with open lattice work, tight fitting pants and black middle thigh boots with silver side buckles.

Overall it is a very attractive figure with smooth articulation.  The clothing does not bind as the figure moves, despite its tight fit.

It’s a nicely crafted figure that looks remarkably like the actress who played Anna.

Color application is smooth, clean and has no rough edges.  The clothing is delicately assembled with frills, lattices with clever attachment in scale and perfectly fitted to the figure.

Accessories are in scale, look completely functional and historically accurate.
