Wolverine: Logan 1/4 Scale Figure

Far and away Wolverine is my favorite Marvel Comics characters-probably my favorite comic book character of all time.  DC Comics Batman is a close second.

Let me clarify that.  Logan (Wolverine) of the Dave Cockrum/John Byrne era is my favorite-way before his ‘Origin” was told.

There’s something fascinating about the short, fierce, nigh indestructible wild man from Canada that strikes a cord with other comic book fans and me.

I’m talking about the pre-Hugh Jackman movie Wolverine.  I loved the mystery about the character, the uncertainty if he would go berserk, how old he was and how did he get to be who he is.

To me, when Marvel Comics revealed his past, where his claws came from and turned him into an emotionally damaged (deep down decent guy) and bleeding heart, Wolverine lost much of his charm.

Sideshow Collectibles created a Logan 1/4 Scale Figure (Sideshow's first) back in the early 2000s limited to 1,500 figure I was fortunate enough to get a review sample.

The massive figure comes in a large vertical box in black covered by a slipcase featuring photos of the figure.  Inside the figure is snug in a form-fitting Styrofoam casing.

WOW!  That's the best way to describe this figure.  Talk about authentic looking!  It is Wolverine as originally envisioned, right down to his real metal claws, white T-t-shirt, blue jeans and cowboy boots.  There’s even a Wolverine metal dog tag.

As with all of Sideshow’s figures the Logan figure’s clothing is perfectly to scale, made of the actual materials used by the various garments and features some of the most amazing facial and body sculpture imaginable.

Logan's face is a study is bridled rage with his thick sweptback black hair, deep furrowed brow, squinting eyes, snarled lips and teeth with a cigar extending from the right side and his muscular torso.

Both fists are clenched with real steel blades extending form his hands between the knuckles,

In this particular review I prefer to let the visuals show the details of the character.  Look and enjoy.
