The Comic Book Heroes

Fights In Tights!

If you’re new to reading and collecting comic books it can be a real challenge to get up to date on the dozens-hundreds-of superheroes titles in print from the Big 2 to other publishers.

Gerald Jones’ and Will Jacobs’ The Comic Book Heroes book from Crown Publishing Group, T.H.E./Prima brings readers up to date up until the late 1990s.

Beginning with the Silver Age the book examines the following decades up until the late 1990s.

Subjects include characters, events, publishers, industry trends and a plethora of information about comic books published from that period.

The book provides concise and fact-filled text examining the various trends, titles and developments within all the large and small publishers.

It offers a great way to get up to speed not only about characters but their stories, events and backgrounds as well.

I use the book as a quick reference tool and it has proved itself an invaluable aid.

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." — 2 Corinthians 9:7
