AVP Alien Vs. Predator

What happens when you pit two of universe’s most deadly alien hunters against each other?  Alien Vs. Predator faces off the face-hugging Alien parasite against the hi-tech Predator warriors in a film that links the two species together, courtesy of McFarlane Toys.

Two of the figures sets show the Predator winning out in one and the Alien stomping the Predator’s armored behind in the other.

Packaging consists of a clear bubble pack standup and hanger with colorful photos taken from the film and with the enclosed figures held in place by plastic form-fitting cocoons.

The first of the figures shows the Aien getting the upper hand over the Predator: Alien Attacks Predator.

Since the two figure sets consist of the same characters I’ll forestall describing the details on the figure in the next set.

In this set the Alien is a nasty quadruple version looking very much like a canine in build although with greater flexibility and dexterity with its hands.  It has an especially long tail with short bony spikes.

From its back protrudes four large tubular horns and its shoulder blades curve up and over its upper arms.

Its hands and feet have large claws and its head is long with an extended cranium that curves over its upper back.

Like all Aliens it has a jaw within a jaw and no visible eyes.

It color is a deep gray almost to the point of black.

It attacks the Predator from the front spearing it with its tail’s sharp end.  Its weight has pushed the Predator back.

The savage space parasite has speared the Predator with its barbed tail holding the Predator aloft and its green blood flows out.

The Predator is fully armored in metal with extended arm triple blades.  His upper torso is armored but his exposed abdomen makes an easy target for the Alien’s spiked tail.

The Predator wears a helmet with a blank faceplate save for the shielded eyes.

His long braided hair extends from both sides.

A shoulder mounted ray gun perches on his right shoulder. Coloration is about the same as the alien save for the silver of its blades and some of its armor.

Both creatures are set against an ancient section of a stone wall.

The second figure set has the Predator holding the Alien by one leg and preparing to fling it away: Celtic Predator Throws Alien.  The Alien is thrashing wildly with its clawed hands and feet flailing in the air.

A circular base with ancient encryptions is also included.  The pose in this version allows you to see more of the Alien and Predator figures overall.

The chest carapace of the alien is bony and its muscle structure is easily seen all over the figure.

The Predator's chest with its armor and decoration, waist belt and leg mesh are clearly visible and with its wrist blades hidden its hands are seen.

There’s also a better view of its helmet faceplate, leg armor its long knife secured to its lower right leg.  Flex of gold and copper coloring are also evident.

Both figure sets are extremely detailed in sculpt, paint and texturing.  The action scenes are especially well executed, as are the bases.

Isaiah 40:28 - Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
