The original tales of the Guardian Of The Galaxy group of interstellar heroes was first introduced back in the 1960s.
It was a relatively successful feature but not one of Marvel Comics top titles.
The Guardians popped up now and again in Marvel Comics through the 1960s and 1970s but never again starred in their own title.
That changed in the 1990s when artist/writer Jim Valentino introduced the Guardians to a whole new generation of comic book readers.
The new group consisted of the original members with modified costumes and several new members.
Their mission consisted pretty much the same as their original purpose-fighting evil wherever they found it in the wide galaxy.
The first issue starts out with a bang as The Guardians are attacked by the forces of Taserface.
The battle intensifies as The Guardians win the battle.
For those readers unfamiliar with The Guardians' history issue #1 of the new series takes the time to not only fill readers in on each member's past but how the group wound up together.
With the huge popularity of the two Guardians movies this issue is sure to be a sought after addition to any Guardians or comic book fan’s collection.
