Death. Murder. Drugs. Lies. Violence. A hidden treasure. An illicit affair.
They’re all in the new murder/mystery book: Honor The Dead, by author Amy Tector as part of her Dominion Archives Mystery from Keylight Books.
Doctor Cate Spencer needs a break. She seeks a restful peace in the Eastern Township of Quebec in Canada where she hopes to come to terms with her brother’s death.
Seldom have I read a murder/mystery novel that’s keeps me guessing right up to the end. Honor The Dead is one such book.
The author does an excellent job of describing the people, locations and overall atmosphere of the situation.
The characters are especially interesting, somewhat quirky and deeply developed.
Do you remember the old Newhart TV show on CBS? Bob Newhart starred as an inn-keeper in a New England Town. Along with him was an odd and quirky cast of characters.
The town in the novel had a cast of characters that very much reminds me of the Newhart show. They’re not funny, quirky or bizarre, but they are definitely unique and interesting.
As the mystery develops more secrets are revealed, unexpected events occur and the complexity of the crimes begins to grow as more and more events from the past are revealed.
I enjoyed the novel and hope to read and collect more titles by the author.
