Karl Malden stars tough-as-nails San Francisco Detective
Mike Stone who is accompanied by two young partners: Inspectors Steve Keller (Michael
Douglas) and Dan Robbins (Richard Hatch).
The crime-fighting trio deals with the scum and debauchery that
infest San Francisco while contending with police bureaucracy and city
politics.
The old makes way for the new as two generations of police
officers learn to work together to solve crimes using both old and new methods
of police investigation.
In the Fifth Season they deal with such crimes as misguide radicals,
a vengeful father, a false confession, motorcycle bandits, an amnesiac murderer,
a body-builder murder and many more classic episodes.
