Dune Drifter

The future.  Mankind has expanded its civilization to the far reaches of outer space.

Unfortunately not everyone is pleased with its expansion.

When rookie pilot and her gunner are shot down the land on a nearby planet.  Injured and running out of air they find a crashed alien spacecraft.  They hope to salvage its parts to repair their own spacecraft-until the owner shows up!

Dune Drifter is a low budget science fiction film but its gritty realism, clever use of close-ups and claustrophobic feel when inside the spacecraft all combine to make a compelling story.

It’s nice to see a sci-fi film that doesn't get all caught up in special effects but instead concentrates on the human element.

There’s a real sense of desperation and fear running through the film courtesy of 4Digital Media.

Mission: Impossible

To really understand the impact spy thrillers had on 20th Century society you had to live in the 1960s.

The Cold War was at its height.  Things were so bad that the United States and the Soviet Union came within a hairsbreadth of total nuclear annihilation.

When the first James Bond film: Dr. No, premiered it immediately caught on and the spy craze soon went into full swing.

Movies, novels and TV shows began popping up everywhere reedy to capitalize from the Spy Craze.

An impressive amount of TV Spy shows began appearing both domestically and overseas.  Among them were the Man From U.N.C.L.E., Secret Agent Man, The Avengers, The Prisoner and dozens more.

One series outlasted them all.  It featured a group of highly specialized agents who teamed together to take down foreign powers, domestic crime lords, dictators and the like.

Headed by the mysterious Jim Phelps the team was assembled each week by Phelps to take on certain clandestine assignments.

When the series first began various actors and actresses would guest star as the selected agents.

After the series fell into place the team pretty much consisted of the same team members with a few additions now and them.  Look for Steven Hill, Peter Graves, Martin Landau, Barbara Bain, Greg Morris, Peter Lupus, Leonard Nimoy, Sam Elliot and Ann Warren in reoccurring roles.

The TV series was Mission: Impossible and it ran on CBS for seven years.

The series inspired a number of movies starring Tom Cruise.

The TV show was cleverly written, edited and produced.  Both actresses and actors on the series performed brilliantly, much of them winning various awards, as did the series.

CBS/Paramount presents the entire seven season run of Mission: Impossible The Original TV Series in a boxed Blu-ray set.  

All 171  of the episodes from seven seasons come on (for the very first time) 46 Blu-ray discs.

It’s cleverly designed Bu-ray collection with each season disc spotlighting key characters and scenes for the series.

Look for it the first of Decmeber, 2020.

Bill & Ted Face The Music

They’re back! Bill & Ted, those dim-witted but lovable rockers from the 1980s, have returned and they're brought some old and new friends with them.

Actors Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have for years wanted to make a third Bill & Ted movie.  Fans have clamored for it and the two actors worked tirelessly to bring fans what they wanted.

It took a lot of work but the would-be rockers return in a brand new adventure along with their daughters and wives.  Even Death returns!

The Official Eleventh Season Bonanza Volume One and Volume Two

Join Ben, Little Joe and Hoss Cartwright and their ranch hand Candy and Hop Sing their cook as they live at and work on the Ponderosa Ranch.

For over a decade Bonanza was one of the most popular TV series on network TV.  As the interest in Westerns waned its ratings began to slip.

The Eleventh Season would still see the series hovering around the top series on TV but within a few years the show would eventually be cancelled.

Running for fourteen seasons the show would leave the air when the season ended.  The previous year actor Dan Blocker passed away basically signaling the death knell for the series.

Still the Eleventh Season would prove just as exciting as the previous 10 seasons.

Highlights included a land rowing boat, Candy being accused of murder, a unsuspecting plan of revenge revealed, Joe and Candy vying for the attention of a young woman, Hoss being mistaken for a bank robber, Candy inheriting a fortune along with 23 more exciting episodes make up The Official Eleventh Season Bonanza Volume One and Volume Two DVD collections.

As the mystery of woman's identity is revealed Picard discovers troubling events in the Federation.

Hit TV Show: Bull Season Four

Bull!  That’s a lot of Bull!  Don’t give me any Bull.  Bull: a large male steer.

That's not the kinds of Bull I’m referring to.  But...considering the main character of the Bull TV series from Paramount/CBS all of those references may just apply.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Bull TV series it stars onetime NCIS star Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull, a head strong, determined and crafty psychologist and trial-science expert who heads the Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC), a jury consulting.

He makes sure a fair jury is selected for his clients.

In Bull Season Four Jason discovers his ex-wife is expecting his child, plays office an political hopscotch when an ex-employee discovers his affair with his sister and one of the most difficult defense cases in the firm’s existence tests everyone’s abilities.

DVD extras include a Season Four featurettes, commentaries and more all on four discs.

It’s a lot of Bull and that’s the way the fans of the show like it.  Michael Weatherly hits it out of the park in the role of a lifetime.

Animated Movie: Superman Man Of Tomorrow

From DC Comics and Warner Bros. comes the latest DC Universe Movie: Superman Man Of Tomorrow 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray/Digital Code Combo Pack.

In this thrilling retelling of Superman’s origin, childhood and time at The Daily Planet as reporter Clark Kent, the movie offers new insights and facts about The Man Of Steel.

Plus Lobo, The Martian Manhunter, Lex Luthor and Parasite make an appearance.

The story opens as young Clark Kent struggles with his alien origin.

Years later Clark is a newspaper reporter apprentice and witnesses the sudden arrival of Lobo, the interstellar bounty hunter, who is looking to collect the bounty on the last Kryptonian-Clark Kent.

After a fierce battle Clark manages to defeat Lobo but not before one of Lobo's biological weapons infects a janitor and turns him into the energy vampire-Parasite.

J’onn J’onzz makes his presence known to Clark and encourages him to hide his alien nature.  Instead Clark decides to reveal to the world his alien heritage as Superman.

When the Parasite begins killing people and destroying energy sources to feed his insatiable appetite, Superman reluctantly requests the assistance of Lex Luthor and his new employee-Lobo.

Together the three battle the Parasite and before long The Martian Manhunter joins the fray.

Superman Man Of Tomorrow is a spectacular animated movie that brings a breath of fresh air to the Superman mythos.

Incredible action, amazing animation, a topnotch roster of voice actors and a great story all combine to make it must-have for any superhero or Superman fan.

Seal Team and Gunsmoke

From CBS/Paramount comes two TV series DVD collections that examine law enforcement in the past and the present.

You know him from the Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel and Bones TV series.

Actor David Boreanaz stars in Season Three of the new military themed TV series Seal Team.

Over 20 episodes on 5-discs Seal Team leader Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) leads his men on dangerous missions overseas in their search and destroy assignments to take out terrorists and bad guys.

Along the way personal conflicts, at home trials and bureaucratic and military stumbling blocks detract from their mission.

Yet, despite it all they work as a team and complete their assigned missions.

In this time of global conflict, the threat of foreign and domestic terrorism and the rise of fanatical and often violent forces the Seal Team doggedly presses on.

The special DVD Collection also includes over 25 minutes of Special Features including a featurette, and more.

For 20 years the TV Western series Gunsmoke thrilled audiences with its adventures, humor, danger, action, personal character conflicts, rugged portrayal of the Old West and most of all the friendship of its stellar cast.

Even after it went of the air Gunsmoke was popular in repeats and maintained a loyal audience.

The series proved so popular that three Gunsmoke movies were produced starring most of the original cast.

Sadly several cast members passed away during the production of the.

One consistent character, Marshal Matt Dillon, as portrayed by actor James Arness, returned and he lead viewers through a series of three films.

In the Gunsmoke Movie Collection Marshal Dillon is stabbed and slowly recovers as a ghost from his past returns.

In another film retired Marshall Dillon learns he has a daughter that has been kidnapped by Indians and in the final film Matt Dillon finds himself in the middle of a range war.

All the films did well in the ratings and now all three movies are together in one DVD package courtesy of CBS/Paramount.

Blue Bloods The Tenth Season

It’s hard to believe that actor Tom Selleck has been playing New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan on CBS’s Blue Blood hour-long detective/crime TV series for 11 years.  That’s three years longer than his other famous TV character Magnum P.I.

CBS/Paramount present the Blue Bloods The Tenth Season DVD Combo that collects the entire season episodes set in the stormy, sometimes violent, City Of New York.

What makes the TV show so special is that it stars and assemble cast consisting mostly of the Reagan family members.

The family has a long history in law enforcement and they are tight knit, protective of one another and fiercely loyal.

That’s not to say there are not squabbles and disagreements.  Still the family manages to stick together despite the ups and downs of personal and professional triumphs and tragedies.

The family consists of a variety of law enforcement agencies including beat cops, detectives, prosecutors and others.

The series has a heart and is not afraid to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing families and individuals in the 21st century.

Included with the entire episodes compilation is an additional 60 minutes of special features including deleted scenes, a 200th episode celebration and  dinner with the Reagans.

Deathstroke Knights & Dragons

One of the coolest characters in the DC Universe is Slade Williams-aka Deathstroke.

Once a special ops soldier Slade took part in a special government program endowing him with incredible intellectual and physical skills.

After serving his country Slade became a mercenary for hire.

When his son decided to take on a contract to destroy The New Teen Titans for The Hive and was killed in the process, Slade decided to take up his son’s contract.

He became one of The New Teen Titans most fearsome foes-Deathstroke.

George Perez and Marv Wolfman created Deathstroke (originally dubbed The Terminator).

Artist/writer Rob Liefeld created a tribute/parody of Deathstroke for Marvel Comics.  Perhaps you’ve heard of him: Deadpool, The Merc With A Mouth.

Ironically George Perez also created the costume for one of The Avengers greatest foes: Taskmaster before he created Deathstroke.  It’s easy to see the similarities between Deathstroke and Taskmaster.

I’ve always thought of Deathstroke as more than just a villain.  He is a man caught in a moral dilemma.

While he does kill people, in his own mind he is doing the right thing because he decides that certain bad people need to die.

In his own way he is an honorable man, dependable and never one to back down from a pledge.

In the movie viewers learn what made Slade Deathstroke.  They learn of his faults, inner conflicts and his unwavering adherence to performing his sworn duty-no matter the cause or cost.

When Slade's family is threatened-his wife beaten by a vengeful mercenary named Jackal and his son kidnapped, Slade dons his Deathstroke togs and vows to save him.

Unfortunately he comes face to face with the Jackal, Lady Shiva, the Bronze Tiger and the forces of H.I.V.E..

The resulting tussle results in his son’s (Joseph) throat being slit.  Slade did manage to get him medical help in time-but the wound leaves the boy unable to speak.

As the story progresses Deathstroke comes face-to-face with the H.I.V.E. Queen and ultimately learns he has a daughter with his abilities, a son who doesn't wish to be saved form H.I.V.E. and a wife who reluctantly teams up with him to save their son once again.

However things don’t always turn out as planned.

Deathstroke Knights & Dragons is revealing movie in that it gives a clear and concise picture of the man called Deathstroke.  Much of his past life is revealed as well as his family, loyalties and dogged determination to make things right.

It’s a great animated film, extremely well written, performed and animated.

For a true picture of Deathstroke, the man, the mercenary and the father and husband be sure to pick up a copy of this Combo Pack.

If you recognize those words then you know they are the lyrics to the 1970s Wonder Woman TV series starring Lynda Carter as the Amazon Princess.

Each week Wonder Woman, along with her male companion Steve Trevor, sought out and fought evil forces (earthbound or terrestrial) that threatened mankind.

The 1970s was a great time for superheroes on TV.  Wonder Woman, The Incredible Hulk, The Six Million-Dollar Man and so many other memorable shows.

Sure, by today’s standards the stories were a little tame and the visual effects almost laughable at points but they were still great shows.

I can think of no greater choice to play Wonder Woman than the statuesque Lynda Carter.

She was both beautiful and brainy and portrayed Wonder Woman perfectly on TV.

Warner Bros./DC Comics present the Wonder Woman The Complete Series totally remastered on DVD.

All 59 episodes are included along with some great features and even a commentary by Lynda Carter herself. 

Did you know that Lynda Carter wasn't the first TV Wonder Woman and that the first season was set during World War II?

He’s back and more animated than ever in Warner Bros.’ Blu-ray/Digital Code, full-length, computer animated movie-Scoob!

Scoob-Doo brings back the whole gang: Velma, Fred, Daphne and Shaggy along with Dee Dee Skyes, Dynomutt, and the Blue Falcon.

They pursue Dick Dastardly to stop him before he finds the three skulls of Cerebus and opens the gateway to the Underworld to save his dog Mutley and acquire wealth beyond measure.

Join Scooby and Mystery Inc. along with their new compatriots as they fight miniature robots called Rottens, enter the Underworld and save Scooby who is the last key to Dastardly’s plan.

Along they way the meet Captain Caveman and look for some very special Hanna Barbera animated characters cameos.

The film also delves into how Scooby Doo and Shaggy met, how Mystery Inc. was formed and how and why the team almost split up.

SHAZAM! Magic and Monsters

You knew it had to happen.  It was inevitable and in a quirky kind of way it makes perfect sense.

Take DC Comics’ SHAZAM! (with its light hearted and warm humor) and the LEGO animated movies with their unique twists, unadulterated humor and sight gags and BAM!-you have DC/LEGO Warner Bros.' full-length animated movie on Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Code: SHAZAM! Magic and Monsters.

Comics book fans know the story: young Billy Batson is chosen by the wizard SHAZAM!, to be the champion of the downtrodden, destitute, helpless and endangered.  With the magic phrase: SHAZAM!, Billy transforms from a 10-year old boy into the muscle-bound champion of good and virtue SHAZAM!: the Big Red Cheese and the powerful red garbed guardian of goodness.

In SHAZAM! Magic and Monsters SHAZAM! winds up helping the Justice League and they ask him to join the team.  There's one catch though:  they need to know his secret identity.

But, that can wait.  SHAZAM! takes on some magical threats, the JUSTICE League is transformed into kids as a result and guess who shows up to crash the party?  Black Adam of course, SHAZAM!’s sworn enemy.

Throw in some hilarious kids trying to act like adults, Billy’s talent for flubbing thing ups and The Society Of Evil and you’ve got a rock ‘em, sock ‘em movie which pours on the magic, releases the monsters and hits all the right places on your funny bone.

With the sweeping galactic story lines inherent in the Star Trek Universe it’s very easy to bypass the small, pivotal and personal tales of various characters.

Apokolips War and Scorpion’s Revenge

There are two new 4K/Blu-ray/Digital Code, direct to video, animated movies just released by Warner Bros.  Both are ‘R’ rated and filled with lots of action, fisticuffs, intrigue and more.

First up is a movie starring one of DC Comics most popular group of heroes.

Justice League Dark has created quite a buzz in the comic book community with their early appearances demand big bucks.

Consisting of some of DC Comics most memorable supernatural based characters with appearances by the original members of the Justice League the combined might of the heroes face off against DC’s greatest villain: Darkseid.

John Constantine joins the fray as the Justice League valiantly defends earth from Darkseid’s most recent attack.  But will their powers be enough to stop him?

In the DC Universe Movie Justice League Dark Apokolips War heroes become villains, villains become allies and some are killed only to be reborn.

After the disastrous events in Flashpont timeline where the Flash went back in time to save the life of his mother nothing has been the same in the DC Universe.

Apokolips War is a direct result of the Flash’s interference in the timeline and ultimately it is up to him to make things right.

As Darkseid’s legion of Parademons (now genetically altered to take on Doomsday attributes) the earth has been conquered and ruled by the Dark God.

The surviving Justice League members, John Constantine and a few of DC’s supernatural heroes must unit to stop Darkseid and save mankind.

Birds Of Prey

Badguy Roman Sionis and his head henchman Zsasz have targeted a young girl by the name of Cass.

Mayhem rules, bullets fly and blood spills as the city is turned topsy-turvy in their effort to find the girl.

After being kicked out by the Joker, Harley cuts her hair, gets drunk and is rescued by Doc.  She adopts a Hyena and proceeds to start a new life as a roller derby queen.

Unknowingly one night she insults and hurts one of Roman Sionis (the Black Mask) employees and she finds herself with a price on her head.

Eventually she is caught and agrees to capture a young girl who stole a diamond Roman wants.  The girl is in jail.

Harley breaks into the jail, frees the girl and sensing a kindred spirit Harley Quinn takes it upon herself to save the girl.  

Harley’s path crosses the paths of Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya and after a few ‘misunderstandings’ the ladies team up to take on Roman.

Get ready for some serious liberated ladies’ mayhem as the unlikely team of the Birds of Prey metes out some justice and plenty of punches, kicks and bloodletting.

It’s lady's night out and the guys don’t stand a chance!

It’s an action-packed, never catch your breath, glued to your seat movie with enough spills, chills and humor to satisfy the most diehard comic book fan.

Harley's back and this time she’s brought company.  Who needs the Joker when Harley Quinn is in town?

Gunsmoke The Complete Series

Back in the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s TV Westerns were a mainstay.

The ’50s and ’60s were their heydays and eventually they almost completely disappeared when the mid-1970s came around.

Since then a few Western TV series have cropped up now and then but few lasted more than a couple of years.

That was not always the case.  When Westerns were first introduced on TV they garnered huge audiences. 

At first they catered to children but after a couple of years Westerns with more mature themes began to surface. They prospered and at one point almost 40 Primetime Westerns were on the airways at one time.

‘Adult’ Westerns such as Cheyenne, Wyatt Earp and Have Gun, Will Travel paved the way for Primetime adult oriented Westerns.

One of the very first premiered originally as half-hour episodes.  The lead role was offered to movie actor John Wayne.  Wayne politely declined the offer.  But, he did recommend a young actor in his acting troupe for the role of Matt Dillan: U.S. Marshall of Dodge City in the classic TV series Gunsmoke.

That actor was James Arness.  Arness was a huge man and very commanding both on and off the screen.  He was the consummate professional; kind and  generous but fully dedicated to his craft and it showed on Gunsmoke.

His fellow actors were just as professional.

Gunsmoke ran for 20 years and to commemorate its 65th Anniversary CBS/Paramount has released Gunsmoke The Complete Series boxed set.

Six DVD collections are included broken down by episodes: 1-4, 5-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-20.  A separate Gunsmoke The Final Season  DVD collection has also been released.
If you’re a Gunsmoke fan, such as myself, you’ll relish each and every episode of the classic series.

With them they take the plans for the Black Baron robot and then contact the world’s leading robotics expert to manufacture a Red Baron robot from the plans with additional capabilities.

The scientist's younger brother pilots the robot and he, along with the three siblings, face off against the alien invasion.

Bravestorm is an in your face, the action never lets up, special effects and battle supreme film that keeps you at the edge of your seat.
