Back in 1969 when man first walked on the Moon the whole
world seemed focused on the event.
People from all over the globe were glued to their TV sets or radios as
Neil Armstrong first stepped on the Lunar surface. Several Moon missions followed including ones
where the Lunar Rover was used.
Apollos 15, 16 and 17 utilized the specially designed Lunar transport
to explore more of the Moon. It was an
exciting time in the history of the United States and the world.
Haynes has just released its Lunar Rover Owner’s Workshop
Manual that not only contains schematics of the Rover but a complete examination
of the craft’s development, advanced technology and history.
Graphs, drawings, NASA documents and black and white and
color photographs trace the history of the craft, entails its many
modifications, those that were involved in its development and what it helped
to accomplish once it was on the Moon.
Former astronaut Apollo 15 Commander David R. Scott provides
a foreword into the insight of the extraterrestrial vehicle that revolutionized
Lunar exploration.
The International Space Station has been the center of many controversies
and speculations.
Since its development and deployment it has strengthened ties
between the participating countries but has also caused some political
rumblings.
Haynes International Space Station Owner’s Workshop Manual
examines the floating space lab from 1998 to 2011 in all of its stages.
Readers can learn about the development, collaboration,
production and role of the permanently manned Earth-orbiting complex. Though schematics,
photos, crew complements and detailed descriptions of the many capabilities of
the Space Station are included in regards to experiments, technology and maintenance.
Haynes Guitar Playing Manual is a comprehensive guide to the
six-string instrument so popular with musicians.
Martin Hatwood has done a spectacular job of explain and
defining the complexities of playing a guitar. From acoustic to electric
guitars, the book offers chord charts, repair suggestions, how to finger pick
and even a guide for the left-handed player.
My son plays both acoustic and electric guitar and he’s very
good. He has been the member of various
bands and is an accomplished player, song writer and producer. How he is able to pluck guitar strings and produce music is far beyond
me.
As I’ve told others, “I can’t even play a radio!”
But, after looking at this manual I may give it another
shot.
