To quote Inspector Gadget, Wowser!"
That's the best word I can use to describe Insight Editions new book, The Art
Of Blizzard.
Blizzard designers, artists and creative staff have taken the video game to a whole new level with their cutting-edge graphics, inventive game mechanics and dazzling game play.
Not bad for company that started out with three employees and has grown to an international power house responsible for such games as Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo.
Commentaries from Blizzard's Nick Carpenter, Sam Didier and Chris Metzen complement the huge volume of concept art, character and environment designs, sketches, paintings and production notes and information that fill this beautiful oversize hardback book.
Inside lush illustrations, in full-color and black and white, practically burst from the pages. Throw in a spectacular color painting on the cover that looks 3D which is accomplished using spot varnish and you have a "I gotta have it" collectable for game, art and design fans.
I can't wait to share this book with my Commercial Art and Drawing students once I get back to class.
