You've got to hand to the folks over at 20th
Century Fox and MGM for taking a big
chance by reinventing James Bond. First
they cast a blue-eye, blond-hair actor, who is under six foot tall to play
Bond. Daniel Craig seemed ill-fitted to
the role but somehow he managed to make the role of the spy with a license to
kill his own.
The first two movies in the re-imaged Bond series, Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace, established Craig as Bond but did little to examine his personal life.
There were a few hints along the way but up until now movie goers had to settle for a few tidbits.
In Skyfall we learn about Bond's past, his family, where he lived and until recently, hidden facets of his personality and personal life.
As the movie progresses Bond shows himself to be compassionate without being mushy, loyal, pig-headed and single-minded in whatever mission or situation he sets his mind to accomplish.
Skyfall finds Bond searching for a former Double-O agent who has it out to get M and the Double-O organization. Every bit as ruthless and brilliant as Bond, the former agent, Silva, matches Bond tit for tat.
People die, things blow up and Bond fans are sure to be surprised and shocked by the film's ending.
Look for homages to Bond's past, new, but familiar, characters and by far the most intense (and successful) James Bond film in the franchise.
The Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack includes the film, commentaries, a dozen all-new Bond featurettes and a look behind the Skyfall premiere.
Bond is back and he's better than ever!
