I enjoyed the first solo Wolverine movie but after its finale
I still felt hungry for more tidbits about Wolverine’s past. Where did he acquire his code of honor? What helped mold him into the savage warrior
he is today? What tragedies sculpted his
mind and body and how did he finally arrive at peace with himself?
All these questions and more are answered in 20th Century Fox’s The Wolverine movie now out on Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD.
In The Wolverine the action starts immediately as viewers
find Wolverine caged up in Japan when the first atomic bomb is dropped. He saves himself and a young compassionate
Japanese soldier.
Years later Wolverine has withdrawn from the world in the
deep back woods as he seeks to cope with the loss of his love Jean Grey.
Traveling to a nearby town Wolverine meets up with a young Japanese
girl who brandishes a wicked sword. She explains
that her employer (the now rich and wealthy former young Japanese soldier
Wolverine saved years ago) wants to meet him and offer him the end of his
suffering and long life.
What ensues is an epic Samurai, Ronin and Ninja slugfest that
will both dazzle and awe audiences.
Hugh Jackman is in top form as the tortured Wolverine and
turns in one the most tragic and emotional performances of his career.
Audiences of all ages and genders will love this movie and
if box office returns are any indication Jackman will be back for a third film.
Included with the Combo Set are tons of extras including
featurettes, a sneak peek at the next X-Men film, commentaries and much
more. This is one of the best ‘X’ movies
ever made.
