I had no idea that when I requested a review copy of Schiffer Publishing’s book ERMA: Erfurter Maschinenfabrik 1924-2003, Vol. 2 Handguns by author Holger Schlemeier that the book would be so huge!

Talk about massive! Over one-inch thick this beautifully bound hardbound book with its full color photo cover blew me away!

There is so much information about the company’s handguns in it it boggles the mind.

Black and white and color photos, diagrams, cutaways, specs, detailed technical drawings, advertisements, accessories and everything you could possibly imagine associated with the handguns are included in this colossal book.

Detailed and highly-technical text traces the whole history of the company and its handguns, delves heavily into full specs and performance and completely covers all of the models produced.

Look for variants, military and sporting models, prototypes, unique and quirky curiosities, production numbers, markings and more from the famous German weapons manufacturer.

I absolutely love the way the book is laid out, the color photos are crisp and catch every detail and the vintage photos, advertisements and drawings are all complemented by the informative and fascinating text.
