Recently it was announced that the cult classic: Buffy the
Vampire Slayer is coming back on TV with a new cast.
For those of you unfamiliar with Buffy here’s a short
description.
Buff is a cheerleader at Sunnydale High School. She discovers that she is the latest in a
long line of vampire hunters.
She, along with her Scooby Gang proceed to battle not
only vampires but other nasty ghoulies and supernatural threats.
The TV series, created by Joss Whedon (of the Avengers
movie fame), has now been translated to a kid’s picture book, courtesy of
writer Jason Rekulak with illustrations by Kim Smith and published by Quirk Books’ POP Classics.
The Buffy The Vampire
Slayer book features Buffy and her friends as elementary school kids who
throw a sleepover party. When they begin
hearing creepy noises from Buffy’s closet, they ask their school librarian:
Giles, for help.
He encourages them to be brave. As a result they charge
the closet only to discover some very creepy and scared monsters.
It seems not all monsters are bad and they get scared of
things just like Buffy and her friends.
What a fun story: great art and a clever twist ending that
are perfect for young kids.
