WWI, American Hunter and Now!

It was called ’The War To End All Wars’.  We all know how that went.

It was the first war that literally involved the entire world.  Millions of lives were lost mainly due to antiquated battle strategies and new technology.

The machine gun, the tank and aircraft all played pivotal roles in the war-resulting in the greatest loss of life, up to that time, during a war.

In Mill Creek Entertainment’s new DVD + Digital release: WWI The War To End All Wars, viewers are given a comprehensive look at the war that shaped the 20th Century.

Rare interviews and actual war footage recount the beginning of the war set off by the assassination of the Austrian Arch Duke and ending when British and its allies were victorious.

Victory may have been won, but the cost in human lives and property was astronomical.

This 10-part documentary is more than an impersonal tally of facts and figures.  It shows the human side of the war with all of its heartbreak, destruction and long-lasting effects.

Gun ownership is a hot topic in today’s society.  Pro and anti-gun advocates go head-to-head politically and personally.

The American Hunter DVD + Digital 6-part documentary series looks back on the long history of hunting in America and how it shaped the nation.

Today’s hunter owes a great debt to the pioneers of yesteryear.  Hunting has progressed from a simple search for food to a sport and conservation effort.

A large variety of weapons are used: some physical and some political and personal.

Hunting in America is in a constant state of flux, but one thing is certain, it is a tradition that goes back to the founding of this great country.

Documentary Now!, hosted by Helen Mirren is a new Blu-ray + Digital collection of Seasons 1 & 2 of the series that parodies some the best-known documentaries.

Each episode is shot in a different style with the filmmakers’ tongues firmly place in their cheeks.

Events that never happened were filmed as if they were real events.  For truly hilarious takes on what are normally serious subjects, Documentary Now! pokes fun at both documentaries and itself.
