Gotham City’s newest superheroine: Batwoman, is missing.  Kate Kane has abandoned her Batwoman persona and no one knows where she is or why she disappeared.

When the actress who played Kate Kane decided to depart the show after one season it put Warner Bros. in a bit of a spot.

But with clever recasting, an interesting story twist and with various tweaks and fixes the show came back even stronger than before.

When a young, homeless black woman (Ryan Wilder) discovery's Batwoman’s costume in the wreckage of a plane she decides to take matters into her own hands.

Seeking vengeance against Alice and her Wonderland gang for the death of her foster mom, she dons the Batwoman costume and sets out on her mission.  Meanwhile the search for Kate Kane resumes.

As Gotham City sinks deeper into despair Kate’s stepsister takes Ryan under her wing and with the help of Luke Fox, they set out to train and equip her to take up the Batwoman mantle to best serve and protect those in need.
