The Birth Of Super-Heroes!
Travel back in time to when faith, family and patrionism meant everything!
Get ready for a full year of images from the comic book company that started the whole superhero craze starting in the Golden Age: DC Comics!
It’s true, if it were not for the creation of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman (along with dozens of other superheroes) comic books as we know them today (if they existed) would not be the same.
Here’s an interesting little side note. When I was kid back in the late 1950s and 1960s both Goodwill and Salvation Army used to have huge bins full of comic books selling for five cents apiece.
I remember purchasing old Golden Age comic books dating back to the 1940s up until the early Silver Age. Man, if I only knew then what I know now!
Rather than just a collection of comic book covers the book reprints, in full color, segments of different pages from a diverse range of DC comics titles.
Accompanying the images are short pieces of historical text explaining the scenes, their significance and the event or incidents that occurred around on the same dates of the calendar.
The Golden Age Of DC Comics - 365 Days, published by Harry N. Abrams, is more than pretty pictures; the book is a historical account of the days during the Golden Age.
Imagine that! A fun book to look at and a history lesson at the same time!
Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) “For
I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor
principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor
height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to
separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
