Curtiss Motorcycles 1902-1912

Motorcycles, especially vintage motorcycles are highly sought after and collected.

One of the most sought after vintage motorcycles are Curtiss motorcycles. If you find one you can expect to pay a premium price.

In author Richard Leisenring Jr.’s new book: Curtiss Motorcycles 1902-1912, published by Schiffer Books, readers are treated to vintage photographs, advertisements, color photos and spec sheets of the famous Curtiss motorcycles.

Aviation pioneer Glenn H. Curtiss went toe-to-toe with the Wright Brothers. Airplanes was just one of his passions.

He was a designer of bicycles, automobiles, aircraft and motorcycles. All of them innovative, ahead of their time, technically impressive and much sought after and prized by their owners.

Curtiss and his team built and sold motorcycles their components and engines and Curtiss himself set the world land speed record on his V-8 bike clocking in at 136 MPH!

Packed with photos the book details the full history of Curtiss motorcycles from 1902 to 1912. Most photos are previously unpublished.

If you love speed. If motorcycles are in your blood then this is the perfect book to read about the history of one of the earliest motorcycles made.

I got a real kick out of looking at the old photos and learned a great deal about the history of Curtiss and its motorcycles.
