Hi, Earth

As human beings we tend to be very egocentric. We hustle and bustle about intent on satisfying our needs, goals and dreams.

Often we take for granted our environment, what we eat, where we live, life’s necessities and wants.

It’s me, me, me!

Have you ever taken the time and thought about how the animals perceive life, humans and their environment? What about mountains, oceans, plants,- even mythical creatures and aliens?

Are their perceptions and observations any less valid than our own? Are we really that vain? I’m not stating that inanimate objects or even aliens or magical creatures really do wonder, “What am I here for?’”

But, it does make for a thoughtful and often hilarious premise in Elizabeth Pich’s and Jonathan Kunz’s Hi, Earth War And Peas small hardbound book from Andrews McMeel Publishing.

The book contains a collection of the webcomic War and Peas all wrapped up in Planet Earth.

Told from the point of view of animals, landscapes, aliens and so forth the book celebrates the weird and wonderful and sometimes whacked out planet Earth as it struggles to cope with human folly.

Be warned, although humorous the strips are often poignant, to the point and to some-controversial.

Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
