Fifteen years! That’s pretty impressive for a TV series to be on air and remain popular. Supernatural stayed on the air for that long and never lost its audience appeal.
Pretty remarkable when you consider that the show was primarily about demons, devils, Hell, Heaven, death, resurrection, demon possession and other assorted stories about things that go bump in the night and that scare the living delights out of you.
Fans of Supernatural were sad to see the show go. The actors and staff were a tight-knit family and all felt it was best to go out while they were still on top. Wise choice.
I remember when Supernatural first came on air. It started out as a simple tale of two brothers caught up it the dark world of the ‘other side’ and their desperate search for their missing father after witnessing the gruesome death of their mother.
From there the show progressed into the most exciting, captivating and full of surprises series on TV.
The Winchester brothers matured from young innocent men caught up in evil into two hardened mystical warriors who placed friendship, family and humanity above their own well-being.
In the last season the brothers had their final confrontation with God and an end to all things.
The last episode is a real tearjerker allowing the two characters to meet their well-deserved final days.
It’s easy to see it was done primarily for the show’s fans to wind up the series and they pulled it off perfectly.
The Warner Bros. Supernatural The Fifteenth And Final Season Blu-ray/Digital Code Collection contains all 20 episodes and some extras including five featurettes, deleted scenes and a gag reel.
Rest easy boys, you deserve it.
